the Film Festival went well and i got to spend a lot of time up there doing different things. getting a chance to perform there was great. sadly i am not the type to get pics with the celebrities, not that i am against it, but i usually just talk myself out of it because i know they get it all day long and i am sure it gets super old. there were plenty of them up there though (paris, Matthew Perry, Jimmy Fallon etc etc.

i am leaving on a family reunion cruise at the end of the week out of LA. i think it just hits the Mexican Riviera. i have never done the cruise thing so hopefully it will be good. other than that i am just trying to finish some songs and whittle down a list of possible ones to record for the album. now i just need to get rid of the writers block so i can finish some of them

Sundance Film Festival

It's been awhile since i posted so i figured i was about due for one. the holidays were great with family and i am finally about finished with school so thats a plus. other than that I have just been trying to finish some songs to record a new record that will hopefully be out by summer.

I was lucky enough to be asked to play at the Sundance Film Festival this year. I went today to pick up my credentials and I guess I can get into all the parties and stuff up there but the bad thing is I'll probably be going solo since I don't know anyone else that can get in. I will probably end up going to some parties anyway for kicks and to start my stellar acting career that is long overdue (obviously kidding). I will be playing at the festival headquarters Marriott Timber Lounge on Saturday the 26th form 3pm-5pm

Christmas

So, I had the pleasure last night of helping a friend (Paul Jacobsen, great songwriter) out with his record. a bunch of my musicians friends showed up at the studio and we just recorded his song live. the plan was to finish Paul's song and then record a live take of one of my songs, and one of my friend Ryan Tanner's (another great songwriter) songs. we got to the studio at around 3:30pm and went from there. After we finish all of that, 2:00am rolls around, and Scott (producer) decides we all should do a Christmas song for kicks. I suggested we do a crazy version of the theme song to Christmas Vacation. one take later we have this. you will be able to see that it is obvious this was recorded at 3 o'clock in the morning, but never-the-less is a holiday classic
